September 7th, 2008

Well, it has almost been 2 months since our last update. Sorry to those of you who are watching this regularly. It is much harder to keep it updated than it was when we were in Kazakhstan.

Alek and Reagan are doing well. Alek is counting the days to his 4th birthday. As a matter of fact, he has decided that since it is so close he is going to say that he is already 4. He has had a very strong preoccupation with other places in the world this week. He keeps talking about China and that it is far, far away... that Kung Fu Panda is there. Last night we showed him where it was on the globe. We also showed him where Kazakhstan is. "He definitely wants to go visit both places ", he said.

Reagan is growing so fast. She is sitting up alot in our laps by pulling up on our hands, so we got her a Bumbo. It is a supportive seat to help her sit up. She is also starting to roll over from her back to her tummy. She loves her brother and he has been playing with her so much. She holds his hand and he lays with her. She has really been using her hands to grab things and pull things to her mouth. She gives us a full on belly laugh if we blow on her stomach, tickle her thighs/bottom, blow lightly at her, or push her feet up close to her face. She really wants to get them in her mouth. I am sure that time will be here soon. She is really starting to be able to lift her legs up.

Their school is going well and Alek has a new friend named Vaugh. He talks about him constantly. We are glad because he is in the younger group of kids in the preschool and those are the kids that Alek will be with again next year. Things are all working out well! We hope that you are all well too! Take care.

July 16th 2008

Reagan got a clean bill-of-health at her Dr.s appointment today. She is 11lbs and 23.5 inches long. That puts her at 52% for weight and 85% for length. Alek is still enjoying being a big brother. He is riding his tricycle and should be on a big boy bike soon. Leslie is working 2 days a week and I am staying home with Reagan. She definitely prefers Momma but does pretty good with me. Hopefully I can get Alek to a water park before the summer is over. We will try to get some new pictures and videos uploaded soon.

Update July 11th, 2008

Baby Reagan and Alek are doing just fine. Reagan is sleeping almost all night and most of the morning, then stays awake pretty much the rest of the day. We went to the Zoo earlier this week and Alek had a great time. We have a pig roast on Saturday night (Mike and Karen) and then brunch with some friends that adopted from Kazakhstan around the same time we did (The Caschette's). Leslie starts back to work 2 days a week starting the 14th. I am going to stay with Reagan those two days. Since she sleeps most of the morning I am hoping to bring her to work for a few hours and then meet Leslie for lunch downtown. Reagans' court date that makes our adoption final has been scheduled for November 6th. I will try to get some new pictures and videos posted soon. Our old website is still not working and I have not been successful getting someone from Microsoft to help. Hopefully we can recover all of our comments and pictures from our Kazakhstan trip. July 4th 2008

Welcome to the first post from The Bonsett's new blog. Stay tuned for updates and pictures. Microsoft has our old blog all messed up so I am trying a new one from Google/Blogger. Hopefully we can recover all the history we have from the old one since it chronicled our travels to Kazakhstan. Stay tuned for more info and pictures. Reagan is doing great and is almost 10lbs. Alek is having some issues. Everything we do is a struggle the past few days. He would not participate in karate lessons or the 4th of July parade because he says he is scared, to shy, and too little. Gone are the days when he would try anything. Hopefully this is a short lived stage he is going thru. Getting him to knap, get dressed, eat, etc. is a major ordeal with lots of crying. Stay tuned.
